Poor governance is the main reason of the anthropogenic problems.

It turns out that not only the lack of gas, but also its high price led to the burning of coal, fuel oil, car tires, and the cutting down of trees (in this case for firewood).
Almost 100% of man-made problems are related to poor governance. Conversely, 100% of such problems are solved through effective governance. In our case, this is the lack of accountability of the leadership before the civil society, citizens and the media and the total disconnect, lack of feedback between those who make decisions and those who are supposed to be the beneficiaries of the decisions.
I wonder how Israel would deal with this problem and other problems such as lack of water and jobs? Israel, which gave the world the technology of drip irrigation and many other technologies for turning a lifeless desert into a food exporter. The territory of the Kyzylkum desert alone could accommodate 8 states the size of Israel. This country has risen in the midst of deserts and aggression from neighboring countries.

The natural and geographical conditions of Uzbekistan are much more favorable for development. But it definitely needs the above-mentioned governance, which includes checks and balances of power, the influence of citizens, civil society on the adoption and monitoring of the executed decisions, the media, and the separation of branches of government. Everything for sustainable development.
I anticipate attacks on the comment because of the example of Israel due to Israel-Hamas war. Let’s imagine how Israel would behave if the Taliban (friends of Hamas) took away the vital 40% of the water of the Amu Darya River?
